CHÂTEAU DE LAGORCE

Gallo-Roman Heritage, a New Standard of Bordeaux Innovation

Scroll Down to Explore More

CHÂTEAU DE LAGORCE

The history of Château Lagorce dates back to the Gallo-Roman period. The estate is set within an ancient church, and to this day, the church windows from that era can still be seen.

Located in the southeast of Bordeaux, the château spans 35 hectares of vineyards, ideally positioned between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers—an exceptional setting that provides optimal conditions for vine growth. Passed down through generations of the Mazeau family, the estate has been shaped by four generations of winemakers, carrying forward a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship.

The vineyards of Château Lagorce lie on open, sunlit hillsides with well-balanced rainfall. Thanks to these ideal natural conditions, the estate’s red wines are known for their elegant, refined texture—complex aromas supported by gentle tannins and fresh berry flavors—making them a favorite among many wine lovers.

Grape Varieties:50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot
Aging Process:Innovative macération à chaud (hot maceration)
Brilliant purple-red color, clear and bright. It opens with juicy black-berry aromas, then grows more complex with woody vanilla, buttery cake, and a delicate hint of chocolate. Soft on entry, with smooth tannins and balanced acidity. Well-structured and harmonious, with pronounced black-fruit character and a long finish—an excellent expression of classic Bordeaux. French pan-seared duck breast or Chinese-style braised beef brisket. The rich black-fruit notes complement savory meats, while the silky tannins balance the dish’s richness.
